Beans Cafe

Kay Klose at Two Spirits Gallery hired me to lead an outreach project at Beans Cafe, a homeless shelter in Anchorage, Alaska. Over the course of four days, I organized art and crafts workshops in the shelter. As the participants worked, I told them about the recovery program that Two Spirits offers through art. At the end of each day, I drove interested participants to Two Spirits to give them a tour of the art making facilities. Five different local organizations helped bring this project together: Two Spirits Gallery, sponsor; Cook Inlet Tribal Council, funding source; Blaines Art, material donor; Beans Cafe, project host; and Anchorage Daily News which promoted and reviewed the projects.
